Our Finance Assistant Sophie is leaving us!

Sophie, our Accounts Assistant, is sadly leaving us to pursue a career in the Visual effects industry. We would like to thank Sophie for all her hard work and for being such a joy to have around the office over the past few years. We sat down with her to discuss her thoughts and feelings about her time at Precise Consultants.

Can you tell us a little bit more about yourself? I’m a 30-year-old who is half Swedish, half Canadian but born and raised in the south of Spain (Malaga). I did my bachelor’s degree in Madrid and finished it in 2014. From there, I moved to Norway, where I worked in the Hospitality industry for three years. I then moved to London in 2017. Personality-wise, my colleagues here have said I’m a positive, outgoing, and friendly person!

What was your role at Precise Consultants and why are you leaving now? Since April 2021, I have been working as an Accounts Assistant, and I mainly help with the admin part of the finance department and invoicing. However, I started working at Precise in June 2018 until February 2020, when I worked as an Admin & Marketing Coordinator. I’m leaving because I want to work in the field that I did my master’s degree in, VFX (Visual Effects).

What is it like to work at Precise Consultants? How would you describe the company culture? It is truly a pleasure to work at Precise Consultants. There is a family-type environment, everyone working here is very nice and helpful, making it a great place to come into every morning. I would describe the company culture as friendly, based on the team, and motivating, probably due to the managers.

What are the top 3 things you have learned during your employment at Precise Consultants? I have learnt organizational skills such as “the art of prioritizing”, which will be very useful in my next job. I have also learnt a bit about the finance part of a company which I find very interesting. This knowledge will definitely help me once I start progressing to higher positions in a VFX Production role. I have also learnt that managers and bosses can be great people! As I mentioned before, in both teams I have been working in at Precise (Admin & Finance), I had amazing managers who have guided me and helped me so much. I truly have a lot of respect for them and how they lead their teams.

What was your favourite part of working here? Without a doubt, the team, the people! I would have never been able to work all these years in a company that operates in such a different industry than what I’m interested in if it weren’t for the people.

If you could change one thing about Precise Consultants, what would it be? (Be honest!) I would change the industry they work in! If Precise Consultants decided to get into the Visual Effects industry and I could keep on working here, I would never leave 😊

What advice would you give to a person who wants to join the Precise Consultants team? I would say to be who you are and trust the team. As long as you are trustworthy, open, and helpful, you’ll be good.
